Our mission at JT Studios is to satisfy and delight our customers with photography that our customers will be pleased to pass down for generations.
JT Studios has successfully been in business since 1985, because we do things right the first time. We feel it’s our responsibility to get great pictures, not the customers.

About our photographer
JT Michaelson began his career at age 16 in his father’s studio in Beaverton, Oregon. JT’s ability to quickly and consistently capture great expressions won him praise from customers and fellow photographers. He was named the “youngest professional photographer in the U.S.”. In just five years you had photographed well over 20,000 family portrait sessions!
In 1985, at the age of 21, he opened JT Studios in Beaverton, Oregon, one of the first glamour studios in the country. JT remembers the hardest part of his job was describing to people what “glamour” meant. He usually ended up saying, “It’s like Hollywood photography, but for your mom.”
In 1991, JT merged his fashion/glamour studio with his father’s family studio to create a chain of 8 NW studios, employing up to 50 professionals. JT has trained more than 100 photographers in family, fashion, glamour, senior, and classic styles.
His keen eye, creative portfolios, and reputation for natural expressions has brought much acclaim within the industry.
JT’s Favorite part of photography has always been working with the schools that he photographs annually. JT travels throughout Oregon both spring & fall, serving over 50 schools and photographing over 6,000 smiling kids from Portland to Bend to Klamath Falls.
JT is married to wife Sheila for over 20 years. They have 3 children, Nicholas, Jessi-Ann, & Stephanie. |
